Gaphor - UML modelling
What is Gaphor
Gaphor is an easy to use modelling environment. This means that you are able to create nice UML diagrams for documentation and to assist you with design decisions. Gaphor will help you create your applications.
Gaphor has an UML 2.0 compliant data model. Have a look at the Features page to see what Gaphor can do for you. There's also an Overview of some of the key ideas of the application.
Gaphor uses the GTK+ widget set. Therefore Gaphor works on all Unix's (Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, etc.) and even on Windows.
Why another UML tool
There are a few reasons why this project was started. When this project was started there were no real UML tools for GNOME. The diagrams that are produced with today's tools do not have a high quality. With Gaphor we aim for better UML designs and more pretty looking diagrams and documentation. After all, a picture says more than a thousand words.

Why a new hosting provider
Gaphor evolves, the internet evolves. Quite a while ago Gaphor's CVS repository, hosted at Sourceforge.net, was converted to a Subversion repository. Subversion is a much more powerful repository than CVS. However, the ability to dig into the Subversion repository at sf.net is quite limited.
Past experience with Trac have been so good that the team was looking for a hosting provider that could provide both Subversion and Trac hosting for the project. Well.. one has been found.
Although DevJaVu is still in beta we're pretty confident that they will deliver the robustness and scalability that we know from Trac and Subversion and will keep this project going for quite a few years.
